I couldnt really believe this when I read it. Sports and its participants worth are statistically measurable. Whereas acting is purely subjective. Anyways, this was my response: Sports are based off of physical prowess. Something of which blacks have a proven abundance over their white counterparts. Due to their ancestry, certain muscles have been accentuated. Blacks traditionally run faster, jump higher and possess generally better all around athleticism. European ancestry bread social supremacy. This, of course, resulted in furthering the black Americans physicality through slavery. This while their masters enjoyed no physical training beyond cracking a whip. Acting, on the other hand, does not offer such a clear distinction. There are plenty of great black actors. However, these people are only solicited for a very limited array of roles. Almost all black actors are considered to be character actors. Gang bangers, drug lords (along with Hispanics... Pacino played a Cuban for Christ sake), junkies, impoverished people. White people can play anything... Even Middle-Easterners, Asians and Egyptians. This is not limited to the silver screen, either. Why is it that almost every single black comic book character has the word Black in their name? The only prominent one Im aware of outside of this mold is the Green Lantern. As we all know, Ryan Reynolds played this character in the major motion picture. Denzel Washington had played so many noble, heroic and sincere roles, yet only won an academy award when he fit into the expected mold of a crooked cop. Hollywood is blatantly discriminatory. Look at one of, if not the most, recognizable and respected names in the film industry, Steven Spielberg. When asked what he thought about the casting of an almost all white main cast for the new movie Exodus, he stated that if he took a movie starring Muhammad Such-and-Such from So-and-So, nobody would buy it. So yes, the Academy Awards are far too white with no plausible justification except for racism.
