I couldnt resist but to help this young lady out at the check out - TopicsExpress

I couldnt resist but to help this young lady out at the check out counter. I was buying some groceries at Fred Meyers down in Auburn Lea hill Market and when i went to go check out, I came across a young lady in front of me who was trying to pay her groceries with an ebt card, which is a food stamps card, the card had insufficient funds, so this lady started to panic and I can tell she was starting to tear up a bit telling the cashier that she has 2 kids to feed, she lost her job and is barely hanging on to her apartment. She slowely starts taking food and snack items out of the checkout booth and asked to ring up the card again to see if it goes through or not. I politely leaned forward and asked the cashier how much the total was, she told me it was $42.48 after tax. I went into my wallet and pulled a $50.00 bill and handed it to the cashier and told her to charge my money for the poor young ladies groceries that she couldnt afford. The lady started crying perfusely, and i had told her to take it as a blessing, go home and feed your children she thanked me, gave me a hug, and slowely walked out of the store. When i had paid for my groceries and walked to my car, a young man came up to me, told me that they saw an amazing thing happen and then attempted to give me a $20 bill for helping the poor young lady out. I refused to take the money, told this guy who could not have been over 21 years old, and to use it and pay it forward to someone else in need. Hopefully to pass on random acts of kindness. Little did i know that a police officer saw this whole event and also came up to me after i had alrwady gotten into my car. The officer knocked on my window, i didnt know what was going on. I stepped out of the car, and shockingly the police officer handed me a $50 bill told me to take it as behalf of the auburn police department and officer. I again refused the money, and again told the officer to use it to feed his family and bless them with food in thier stomaches. I then smiled at him, told him, have a geat day, got in my car, and drove away. I look in my rear view mirror and sees the police officer stunned with a smile on his face as he watches me drive away. Everybody suffers and is need of help at some point in their lives. Wheather its finantially, emotionally, or physically, but is usually too ashamed or embaressed to ask for help. I know this feeling way too well. I at one point recently in my life was in major need of help, i virtually had nothing in life, lost everything in ny life with a blink of an eye including friends and family and needed desperate help in so many different ways but had vortually noone to go to left. It was the worst feeling in the world and i dont ever wish that in anybody. If you have an opportunity or an open door to help someone out in some way, even if its to a complete stranger, DO IT. You never know when your saving someones life and their faith in humanity. Pay it forward. Give random acts of kindness. LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH.
