I couldnt wait any longer. I started seed today, 3 kinds of peppers, 3 kinds of tomatoes, two kinds of watermelons, then squash, cucumbers, beets, chard, and eggplant....a total of 108 seed pots with two or three seed in each pot. Im expecting this first run to be a total wipeout....lessons to be learned....but I have plenty of time to rebound. Below are photos of my two trays under plastic, setting under lights...I have no heat in the seed room. I also planted sugar cane joints today...dont know what happens down here, but I figure it will come up sooner or later. If it comes up too soon, Ill try to protect it from frost. Now Im beginning to worry about taking care of the plants while I am gone for a few days....
