I cracked a vertabra in my spine back on the 17th trying to open a window. Amy took me to ER on the 19th & again a week later, catscan looked in wrong place & missed it. Followed up with my reg dr. Ran all kinda tests, sent me to Rockwall got MRI revealed the fractured vertabra. Sent me to neurologist here 9am today. Doc looked at images, made a call, sent me immediately to dr in Mesquite to have the fracture cemented ASAP in a scary risky traumatic procedure. More tests, more X-rays, pictures he showed me where the fracture was & that I have advanced osteoarthritis of my whole spine & my entire spine deteriorated. Said it looks like the spine of a trauma patient been in a car wreck, hit by a car, or fell off a building. Couldnt believe I wasnt in excruciating pain long before the fracture. Set up the fracture repair procedure immediately, then at last minute found out I take fish oil capsules (drs orders) & said fish oil is a blood thinner, stop taking them for a while, postponed surgery until next Wed at noon. Then they will hammer a spike into my spine & fill the fracture with cement. Either that or wear a full body brace like a cast for at least six weeks & still come out all hunchback. I agreed to the risky traumatic procedure he recommended instead, & yes Im scared. No lifting nothing til then, cant buy my groceries, cant pick up nothing. Cant pick up gallon of milk to pour a glass. Vicki, Amy, & Mandy will help. Dont need much, just to rest, til the surgery, & after. Fun day! Emotional roller coaster. Still hurting & exhausted. Call me depressing little Dudley Downer.
