I created a new recipe tonight! Marinara Crab Claws in a wine - TopicsExpress

I created a new recipe tonight! Marinara Crab Claws in a wine reduction sauce. Carole on several occasions had got some crab claws at Patti Seafood and cooked them when we got home. I knew it must be easy because it didn’t take her long, like less than a quarter of a football game. I actually watch her do part of it one time while I was fixing me a beer. OK I didn’t watch for a long time. I thought, that will be a good thing to have for supper tonight, so I pick up some crab claws at Patti this morning. After all how hard could it be! Thank heaven for Google. You can figure out how to cook anything by Googling it. So I Google “Sautee Crab Claws”. Carole had a four-ingredient limit. If it had more than four ingredients she found another recipe. I could not find one with less than about ten ingredients (including heavy cream). Google is failing me. I keep searching and get it down to about six ingredients. I even have all the ingredients, which is even better. It sounded good. You do a “wine reduction” sauce to Sauté them in. I am impressed with myself. I will be doing my first “wine reduction”! I always thought wine reduction was taking a big swig. So I get started. It is going very good. The stuff I looking and smelling good. I have reduced my wine. I am so cool. I may start my own cooking show. So I dump in the crab claws. Wait! What is that! It isn’t crab claws it is crab. Needless to say this wasn’t a good thing. So it is in the skillet, what do I do? Well, how about putting in on some pasta? So I fire up a pasta pot. Ok I can survive this! I try a couple of bites. Good tasting but not something you would want on pasta. I quickly grab some Marinara sauce out of the frig and heated it up. It is complete and I serve it up. Well it was eatable. May have been the worst I have ever eaten, but close. The Ritz crackers and peanut butter will hold me off until tomorrow. I thought well heck I bet the cat would eat the crab. So I take some out to give Fuzzy. She is excited to get good food! She takes a smell, turns and looks at me and walks away. (As best as I remember Carole just thru some olive oil in a skillet, thru the crab claws in and cooked them for a few minutes. Maybe next time I will buy the right thing, just try Carole’s method and reduce the wine the way I always have!)
