I cried when the nurse handed her to me I cried when I worried about what she would be I cried when we packed her in the car I worried more when the distance was far I cried when she felt sad Is that so wrong as a Dad I cried when we dropped her at IU It was so hard and it was all so new It was so hard on all of us when her role model died Our tears would not stop as we cried and cried There were tears of joy when she won and tears of sadness when she lost We were there always with a smile or a shoulder no matter the cost I cried when we dropped her off in DC Her goal to change the world was the key Her papa and mom taught her to care She would always fight for what was just and fair We cried when our beloved Hawks won it all During the movie, Pay it Forward we did bawl We cried together when she was in pain We stuck together thru the sun and the rain When he asked me if he could marry her I cried The tears along with my smile I could not hide I cried when she got engaged His plan so creatively staged I cried as this day grew near Why was I crying there is nothing to fear And thanks to those who always stood next to me I cry because I am alive and present you see I pray that she will be a mom like her mother Pattis excellence at that is like non-other From her mom she has learned all the right stuff With that upbringing nothing will ever be tough Last night dad was the name he said to me He is my son in law I do see I cry knowing that he will treat her as a queen I know because of the love and respect I have seen Tonight I will cry when they say I do Cause I know there love is everlasting and true I will certainly cry when Rebecca asks her daddy for that special dance Thank You G-d, my friends, Stostie and of course my beloved Patti for giving me a second chance
