I cringed at the way Lydia Forson lost compass on the dynamics of freedom of speech and its attendant boldness. No one ever said you cannot say what you feel to anyone. No one blamed your wonderful dad for raising you to know your rights and voicing it, mindless of whose ox is gored. But, everyone expects a level of decorum whether you are addressing a preacher or a painter, especially when such painter is old enough to be your father. Anyone could disagree with a school of thought by throwing tantrums and joining a few adjectives and line of words together. It takes maturity, ingenuity, suave and tact to disagree strongly and still own your respect irrespective of passions associated with the subject. Lydia failed a maturity test! Don’t ask me about the Archbishop, he only echoed what he sees in society and maybe yes, he could have used ‘blessing’ instead of ‘privilege’.
