I crossed Laced Cotton x Elizabethan Age hoping to get a lacy - TopicsExpress

I crossed Laced Cotton x Elizabethan Age hoping to get a lacy purple plicata - epic failure. I knew that Laced Cotton was a ghost plicata, but I didnt know why. Now that Ive researched the I (anthocynanin inhibitor gene) a bit more, I understand that Laced Cotton has 1-2 doses of I which inhibited the purple in the seedling, and that lace is neither recessive nor dominant and seems to rely on modifying genes. So Im left wondering at the potential for this seedling...how many doses of I can it carry and could it carry the gene for lace? Is it worth backcrossing to Eliz Age or a sibling?
