I dare local artist and musicians..i challenge all fans of music to come out and support your local music scene..stray away from the norm..step out of your comfort zone..i see people promoting shows within their cliquey genres..but rarely do i ever see people say you know what theres a free show tonight..and i have nothing to do..lets see how this turns out..all i ever here is negativity..bakersfield band sucks..bakersfield isnt as cool as LA..and other stupid shit like that..maybe their scene is lively because people actually leave their houses to enjoy the hard work and beauty local artist create..instead you sit in your underwear eating cheetos..making angry blogs about how this town is dead..playing exclusively the shit youve been listening to since 2006..another thing that irks me is when people like something but no their friends dont approve..so they pretend to dislike what they enjoy..who cares..if youre a punk that listens to r and b..or a preppy chick that likes death metal..diversity makes life worth living and not as routine like..alot of art programs and music programs are losing funding because some people in the education system dont believe in the importance of self expression..but to some of us..that may very well be all we have left..
