I deactivated my FB account last night and realized I should at least stop by to say thank you to everyone who turned up for my poetry reading. The place was full enough and the waiters were busy as I read away. I stopped reading when I knew I was decidedly exhausted. But from the turnout yesterday, I have to admit I did not know that poetry had that pull effect :) Perry Menzies does an awesome job bringing poets together at Urban Solace every week and hes very hug-worthy! I do not think the world can hold enough Angel Blessings to give back to that man :) Much thanks to my friends for making it in spite of Bangalore traffic and other commitments. There were a number of strangers who also contributed to the reading being a successful - I do not know your names and we may never meet again, but do continue to enjoy poetry. Take what you want out of it. No one says you have to see it this way or that. And when a poet writes he/she is trying his/her best to do justice to a sentiment or concept, but he/she is also just one person who cannot possibly encapsulate everything. I tried my best to open worlds through a single word or an emotion - Im happy there were people who saw beyond the poem and had their own interpretations to my poems. Much love, and many angel blessings...
