I debated on posting this all day but decide to do it. Remember in yesterdays post how I said I didnt really follow sports? Well, I did know who Stuart Scott was, so, what are the chances that a story on his passing from cancer would be the first thing I see in the news this morning and that he was 49 years old (i.e. the #49 making another appearance). On a daily basis I probably inadvertently see the #49 5-6 times. I swear it is always random too...percentage of charge on my phone, # of minutes left on a show Im watching, (up until today) temp outside, etc etc. Even last night we were watching a movie with baby monkeys in it, giggling at how cute they were and how much Dashiell would have LOVED them when, boom, next scene someone is wearing a 49ers shirt. Last week I ran into someone whos been very supportive to all of us but I hadnt seen for a while and we chatted about this topic. The next day she posts a pic on FB and it had 49 likes when I saw it. Today I was scouring an auction site and highlighted items to watch, when I went to the list I had saved 49 items. And its not just me, besides Brian (who is generally skeptical about mysterious things) and the boys, I do know plenty of you who this has happened to as well. I swear, I have got to find a mathematician and research the probability of this happening as often as it does. Anyway, heres a lovely quote from Stuart Scott that I have echoed in relation to Dashiells life/journey. When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and the manner in which you live.
