I debated whether to post this or not. I know I have told a lot of you about my 16 year old dachshund, The Pepperman. I rescued him, along with a girl from a puppy mill, in 1999, and then they gave me the crazy idea to leave molecular biology and go to vet school. Today I had to say good-bye to my friend of 15 and 1/2 years. Its the end of an era, thats for sure. Im NOT asking for sympathy!! No dog lives forever (we wish they would)...and thats so we can save even more. I am posting this because you all are too darn sweet, and I know youll be asking about him when I see you. :) This saves me from having to talk about it multiple times a day. Im trying to have a good attitude - he had a long, fantastic life! Still, dont want to think about it multiple times a day when I need to focus on my patients. Just sayin. If you all werent so nice, I wouldnt even need to post this. :)
