I debated with myself whether to post this status or not. But, its simply not my nature to keep my mouth shut. So, here goes....... Last night I attended the HeART of Cass County Art Show and Wine Tasting Event at The Legacy Event Center in Hughes Springs. Frankly, I have to say I was a tad disappointed; not with the art nor the wine, but with the turnout. I realize this is only the first year for this traveling art show and a smaller number of visitors should be expected. However, it still saddened me to see talented artists works go unnoticed. Cass County, Texas has historically produced noteable artists, actors, music and musicians; from Don Henley to Albino Hinojosa. (lindentexas.org/artistsandmusicians/?c=7) One only has to view the art in this exhibit to see the talent in the area. Blame the low turnout of visitors on this being a new venture, or lack of area support, or even poor marketing. Whatever the cause, I urge you to check out this exhibit. Take your friends, too! We need your help to support the local arts and artisans in your community. Thank you. Im done ranting. Peace out.
