I decided last March to get into doing the Gazette daily crossword - TopicsExpress

I decided last March to get into doing the Gazette daily crossword puzzle. It would have to be considered easy next to the bigger weekly puzzles, but its been enough a challenge for me. This morning before checking my answers, I tried one final time to solve the 2 open spots I had, and as in many times before, I somehow came up, almost easily, with the elusive answers I came up against in the preceding 24 hours. I think that is fascinating, to be able to discern something that was seemingly impossible initially. There must be scientific reasons why this happens, but my best laymans guess is that though I dont believe Im concentrating on finding those answers, part of my mind has assigned another part to work on it, even though Im knot aware of it. I mean, when we practice piano, why do we improve (hopefully!) when we come back the next day and go through it again? There is more going on there that Im aware of. ANYway, HERE is the 1st time Ive offered examples of this phenomenon . 1. Clue: Pull the lever and I had: _ _ T E. 2.Clue: Slangy teeth and this: I _ O R _ E S ......It dawned on me, old voting machine, never used in this town, therefore: V O T E. That added to the 2nd clue: I V O R _ E S, so, teeth could be called IVORIES. Again, this just ability is intriguing to me. u
