I decided, tonight, that Id read my Bible; something I dont do enough of. I thought Id start from the beginning and that Id read my Youngs Literal Translation. When I got to Genesis Chapter 1 verse 20 I noticed something interesting; so I did a little checking. While I havent done an exhaustive search, most Bible translations read similarly to the following: Genesis 1:20 NIV: And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” In the YLT, the same verse reads: And God said, Let the waters swarm with the swarmers having the soul of life; and let the birds fly over the face of the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens. In verse 24 the YLT likewise reads thusly: And God said, Let the earth bring forth the soul of life according to its kind: cattle and creepers, and its beasts of the earth, according to their kind. And it was so. Now, the reason I find this interesting is that, if the YLT is indeed correct, it reveals that animals, and not just humans, have souls. As it is our souls that are saved..........
