I dedicate this status to all the magnificent girls and women in my life. Many of you are going through radical physical and spiritual changes (puberty, childbirth, menopause, finding your voice, and just being a woman every single day). With these transformations can come much joy, and often times much doubt and judgement. Please know that you are a vessel of incredible magic. The beauty within your spirit is never lost through any of these changes. If anything, your beauty is magnified. I stand as a reminder for you, because I need a reminder sometimes too. And I dare you to love yourself, all of yourself, everyday. Your cells are listening to your thoughts. Happy Friday I really like this quote: Rather than fighting for every womans right to feel beautiful, I would like to see the return of the kind of feminism that tells women and girls everywhere that maybe its alright not to be pretty and perfectly well behaved. That maybe women who are [considered] plain, or large or old or differently abled, or who simply dont give a damn what they look like because theyre too busy saving the world or rearranging their sock drawer, have as much right to take up space as anyone else. I think if we want to take care of the next generation of girls we should assure them that power, strength and character are more important than beauty and always will be, and that even if they arent thin and pretty, they are still worthy of respect. That feeling is the birthright of men everywhere. Its about time we claimed it for ourselves. -Laurie Penny
