I deeply appreciated what you have expressed about us. How kind of you to see whats really in our hearts. Not all foreign nationalities treated us badly still there are a lot of foreign employers who really value us. In UK where I was student before and have my work placement as well where Filipino workers/staff are sought after by many agencies to be sent to work places. Some may treat us not so well in the first place because of our color and low position but after learning that we can be relied on/responsible, seeing that we are very industrious, respectful, dedicated to our work, committed on our assigned tasks, patient, caring/loving, theres always a paint of smile on our faces, and other virtues that are worth remembering of us, then these same people will hardly let us go when time comes that our contract expires. I proudly uttered the above words after reading this love letter because I want others to know that we, Filipinos can stand on our own feet with all the virtues we have even without totally leaving our country or having our family with us whenever possible when working abroad. You see, one of the things that this American had realized in us is the importance of having a family of our own. He see also how Filipinos are badly needed in different industries all over the world or else almost everything will be paralyzed. But how about the bad consequences of not having a member of our family because he/she is working abroad? So, whats my point? OFWs need to balance things and situations- which is which? What do you want, lose your income abroad or lose your family? Go home to be with your family and invest in a BUSINESS here in the Philippines is quite a difficult task to do. Anyway, this is a case to case basis. Its up to you which will be your best decision. Its yourself who knows the real score and make sure that its not yet the end of the rope.
