I definitely believe taxpayers should not be paying the SDs attorney to construct a policy that very likely will not hold up to constitutional scrutiny its rather odd to me that this should even be an issue given all other serious issues we face. There are laws on the books regarding lible, slander and defamation the Pottstown SD doesnt need to reinvent the wheel at the risk of denying someone their First Amendment rights. And if there is a problem voiced on social media then its time to step up and have a REAL conversation with the disgruntled employee - dont you think? I also take exception to any council person suggesting that posting problems with the borough on FB will rule out the help of their elected official...I think thats walking a dangerous line too. Zahora said it best: “If an employee is so unhappy that they are defaming us in public forum, we have a bigger problem than being insulted,” said Zahora, adding “it’s punitive before it happens. I think it’s very heavy-handed.” DRACONIAN is the word.
