I did a 5E Dungeons & Dragons live game last night with some people from the RPG One Shot Group. It featured some horrific old school monsters; lava children, spirit trolls, sandmen, and a final encounter with a custom boss I made themed after Imix, Elemental Prince of Evil. One thing I learned after last nights game, 5E Dungeons & Dragons lethality starts to dive after lvl 4. The party had no issue cutting through my swatches of macabre monstrosities, even when they were several CR higher (my old school monsters were using damage and defense stats from 7 and 8 CR, even though the party was lvl 5). The group also was on point disarming my encounters gimmicks =). Good on them. Here is a link to the game if anybody is interested, it was very fun to run.
