I did a bad thing today. I told a mother of two obnoxious children that her little angels were the best reason I’ve ever seen to use birth control. In my defence the kids had been causing bedlam in a city department store for 20 minutes, screaming and throwing tantrums, being rude to shop assistants and their mother just let them get on with it, never once attempting to tell them to behave or apologise. Sorry mothers who read my page. I appreciate parenting is not an easy job, but this lady really was vile and when I made the comment she had just accused the woman serving me of saying mean things about her devil children (she hadn’t by the way). Anyway, I attempted to make up for my badness by doing a good thing on my way home. While crossing the park, I encountered a little old lady frantically chasing a naughty Lhasa Apso called Dillon, who had decided to go walkies all by himself. Leaving the lady to rest on a bench and guard my bags, I finally got the exercise my mother keeps telling me to do by chasing Dillon up and down the park for 15 minutes until a fellow dog walker managed to restrain him and I could take him back to his owner. I now feel I have justification to eat pizza and drink wine.
