I did it! Im still alive and functioning after another World Cup view-a-thon. 64 games, 25 near-sleepless nights, average temperatures around 7 degrees, dual-screen viewing, 2 wall charts, online apps, on-demand classic matches, replays & highlights, the brilliant Full Brazilian, 5,970+ minutes of football, 171 goals, 4 penalty shootouts, 1 Suarez oral-attack, a couple of headbutts, a few giant insects spotted, 1 arm broken by a ball, new records set, countless Brazilian tears, and Die Mannschaft march through the competition to claim the trophy! Best World Cup ever? Best that Ive seen (and I have massive soft-spot for 2002) anyway. And now, sadly, comes the inevitable realisation that its all over for another four years. Time to get warm fuzzies by watching all the incredibly put together montages, and try and ease back into old routine and accept normality... ...by getting ready to dress up as video game characters, and being cramped up in a building with thousands of other cosplaying geeks all weekend long at AVCon. Yay reality!!
