I did my first ever professional shooting job for several sizzle - TopicsExpress

I did my first ever professional shooting job for several sizzle reels for a Spike TV Show recently. I was nearly replaced day one because I lacked knowledge in some areas. However, I gave my word that I would be on point as I respected the vision of what needed to be accomplished. I took the projects home, got very little sleep but was determined to keep my word that all would be done in excellence. I looked that the finished products that were sent to me along with the comments Great Job and asked to work again doing more projects. I am very thankful that I was given an opportunity to stretch. I was proud of the work I did. I spent so many years lacking confidence and fearful that I could not achieve goals or do tasks that I have seen others do. Then being overlooked because people are to busy to notice or unwilling to take the time out was very discouraging to me. But the fact that I was able to demonstrate my capabilities with success is a blessing to me. I will boldly encourage those of you who have the ability to help others with potential to do so. Dont just utilize certain people because they are your close buddies because sometimes their work can be disappointing but get to know others who have potential, take their goals and ambition seriously and give them an opportunity to show what they are made of. I cannot recall how many times I was passed over for someone else because of nepotism and half the time the other people that were favored over me did not work out. Its tough when you have bills to pay and you want to work. The who you know thing is not always on point. Allow yourself to stretch and get to know others who can help take you a long way. Get to know others with integrity who are people of their word. People who will fight tooth and nail until the job is done right.
