I did not always take the actions I knew were in my best interest. I was afraid other people would not like me or I would be left alone if I rocked the boat or stood up to their abuse. Then I realized I was already alone in any abusive relationship. And, I already did not like myself for not pursuing the career I wanted. The moment I learned to act upon what is most positive for me I no longer cared about being liked or feared being alone.
