I did not know what to expect at the color me RAD 5k this past weekend. We got in the car early Saturday morning with little expectations, we drove up to Rentschler field and followed the traffic to our parking spot just a little after 8:00am and we found the Race4Chase tent. Kevin Grimes was manning the tent, our family was the first to arrive at the tent. 46 Race4Chase teammates joined the festivities. People were trying to warm up to the zumba class as they started to pump out the color powder. Holy cow a puff of color was all over the crowd... my first thought wow what a mess! The crowd went wild they didnt care about the mess, the rain or the cold. At the R4C tent, people started gathering and our group got larger, then we pinned on our numbers and got together for a clean group photo. It didnt last long ... until some one opened a color bomb and our tent was a laughing, crazy color bombed mess with the biggest smiles around. We all gathered and took more pictures then walked over to the start line with a bunny rabbit running behind a mini Cooper. The fun heightened to the next level as the count down began. The powder was peppering everyone as the crowd yelled,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,321 and we were off. Going through the color stations was crazy ... just big puffy clouds of purple, orange & yellow ... And we especially enjoyed the blue station including a couple of our own color bombs. We finished the Race a drippy and colorful mess ... All with big smiles. I would all do it again, we had so much fun!
