I did not post this to start arguments I did this because Friday doesnt add up and many people are confused...... JESUS would have died on a Thursday and rose from the dead on Sunday ............... Matthew 12:40 King James Bible For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. Matthew 27:45 Matthew 27:45 New International Version From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. Matthew 27:46 King James Bible And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. Matthew 27:48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. Matthew 27:49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. Matthew 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. Mark 16:1 And when the [sabbath] was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. Mark 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. Mark 16:3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? Mark 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. Mark 16:5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. .......................... Jewish people start the next day when the Sun Goes Down..... Why does the Jewish day start at sundown? by Rabbi Mendy Hecht A. Think about it--what makes more sense: for a new day to begin when the old day ends, or in the middle of the night? That’s basically why the Jewish day begins at sundown--it follows the laws of nature. But a fuller understanding of why the Jewish day starts at sundown requires a quick examination of time. B. When G-d created the universe, He created time, space and matter simultaneously. At the very beginning of Creation, the clock began ticking at 00:00 at the precise moment space and matter burst into being. Twenty-four hours later, Day One was complete. What does the Torah say? It was evening and it was morning, one day. That first 24-hour day began with night and ended with day--and it’s been that way ever since. C. Later, on Day Four, G-d assigned the sun and the moon as day and night markers, setting up the solar system the way it is today, but the Jewish day begins with night, because thats how time began. PS.... also remembered the Jewish Sabbath is on a Saturday ....... Jesus was not talking about a literal 72 hours when the Jewish people refer to evening and morning their morning stretches from the Sun coming up all the way until the Sun Goes Down then it becomes evening let me show you these two scriptures matthew 12:40 King James Bible I want to put this scripture one more time to show you something........ Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. .............. 1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:................theres no contradiction in the Bible by looking at the scriptures that I just posted theres no way Jesus was talking about a 72 hours he would be in the grave I know that this may sound like confusion to some people to us Americans we had morning afternoon and night when the Jewish people refer to morning they mean a full day till the Sun comes up into it goes down when it turns night it the next day they call that evening. so this is how Jesus did it and these are the three days and three nights. Thursday evening night 1 .Friday evening night 2 . Saturday evening night 3............... Friday morning day one. Saturday morning day 2. Sunday morning day 3.......... I also included a chart to look at in the pictures......... Passover is on.. Hebrew month 1. Nissan corresponds March/April [ days 30] [feasts 14. evening: Passover (Seder meal) Passover on 2014 is on and began in the evening of Monday, April 14 and ended in the evening of Tuesday, April 22 ............. Passover on 2015 is begins in the evening of Friday, April 3 and ends in the evening of Saturday, April 11 ................................ Why do Jewish holidays keep changing dates? Jewish holidays actually occur on the same day every year: the same day on the Jewish calendar! The Jewish calendar has a different number of days than the calendar you use because the Jewish calendar is tied to the moons cycles instead of the suns. The Jewish calendar loses about 11 days relative to the solar calendar every year, but makes up for it by adding a month every two or three years. As a result, the holidays dont always fall on the same day, but they always fall within the same month or two. The Chinese calendar (which is also lunar) works the same way, which is why Chinese New Year occurs on different days but is always in late January or early February. The Muslim calendar is lunar but does not add months, which is why Ramadan circles the calendar. In 2013, Passover is March 25 - April 2. but we must understand that the Jews of that time considered any part of a day to be considered as a day, and so Jesus spoke of rising from the dead on the third day (Luke 24:46). 1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. ..... it doesnt matter what day Jesus rose from the dead all that matters is that he rose on the third day.!!!!!!!!
