I did what everybody in town apparently did today -- went to a movie. Marcus offers $5 movies and free popcorn on Tuesdays so I decided to go to Into the Woods. But the line for free popcorn was so long I had to wait about 20 minutes. Still, the doors to my movie were still open so I stayed in line. Then my guy wanders off and doesnt return. The guy working next to him just keeps serving his line and the mild-mannered guy in front of me seemed content to wait until the end of time. So I demanded he also wait on our line or get our recalcitrant server back. He enlisted someone else. Then I saw our original server on the wrong side of the concessions counter, wandering around the lobby. When I got into the movie, it had already started, so I asked for my money back and left. This was really bad service and the theater seemed ill prepared for the glut of out-of-school kids who were champing at the bit to see Annie. The ticket line was so long that many of us had to stand outside in the cold waiting to get in. Bad move, Marcus. You need to step up the service.
