I didnt get a chance to post the sermon lesson on yesterday: 2 Samuel 9:1-8 Do it for Johnathans Sake ; Be a blessing to someone -David is now the king of Israel & because he recognizes that he has come from a mighty long way he has sought out to find his best friend (Johnathan, who has now passed away) descendants to bless him because he has been blessed so abundantly by God. -He sends his servants to find a descendant of Johnathan. They find a son that David never knew Johnathan had named Mephibosheth. -Mephibosheth questioned Davids request because he doubted his self worth due to a disability he had. He referred to himself as a dead dog because he was crippled. -David blessed Mephibosheth beyond measure as much as humanly possible, simply because God had blessed him with so much! He did it in honor of his best friend Johnathan. He knew Mephibosheth would never be able to repay him but he wasnt worried about that. He knew his actions would be pleasing in Gods sight. There are many of us that doubt our worth simply because we may not have the luxurious things our neighbor has. There are people out there that think just because they were born a certain way, they are inferior to someone who has the capabilities they are lacking. Let me be the one to tell you, the devil is a liar. If you are saved, you are a child of God & dont you ever let the enemy make you believe otherwise! On the other hand, if God has blessed you abundantly financially, physically, mentally...bless someone that you know would never be able to repay you in that way! Carry an older persons groceries, buy a hungry person a meal, give away old clothes that you know you dont want instead of trying to sell them every time. If you can bless someone without hurting yourself, do it. There are plenty of Johnathans, Mephibosheths & Davids in the world. No matter which category you fall in, let it be pleasing in Gods sight! ♡ Happy Monday ♡
