I didnt get much in the way of pics, was busy managing the bunch, but Baylors training involved lots of cute social time with Bosley and Zeus today. The Tweedles were so great for him, showing Baylor calm assertive energy and inviting some appropriate play... Baylor has not been successfully engaging with other dogs like this yet. Theres so much energy that comes with puppies, they can be totally irritating and obnoxious for older dogs. Its important to coach and de escalate that initial intensity by creating scent exchange opportunities, and calm around each other, before letting everyone loose. Baylor being physically shown to allow other dogs to sniff him calmly first, lessens the excitement and potential for a snarly/snappy encounter between the dogs- as often happens when you just toss a rowdy puppy into a face to face encounter. With great hellos, we got to see a much more respectful curiosity from the fluffy little puppy. Super fun development stuff. :)
