I didnt have the car, and needed to get from City of Hope to back - TopicsExpress

I didnt have the car, and needed to get from City of Hope to back here on Monrovia/Arcadia border. I just missed a bus, and figured that the wait would be up to an hour so I might as well walk. Ive always been adventurous about things like that ;-) but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone else - especially in the dark! The most dangerous section for pedestrians is from Buena Vista to Myrtle. I was walking on the opposite site from the railway construction. The sidewalk in many places is missing or at a crazy angle. I challenge anyone to not see the irony of walking past Live Oak cemetery - the sidewalk is wide enough for only one person - if someone was coming the other way, theyd need to negotiate safe passage, stepping out into the busy roadway or passing sideways on. The irony? - oh yes, the space is taken up on one side by, um...., the graves of dead people #thelivingneedspacetoo Anyway, Im back in one piece, and feeling the benefit of the exercise. Ive traveled a bit and the only places Ive been that come close re urban navigation were Sri Lanka and Morocco. Monrovia must have thousands of people who either dont have sole use of a car (which includes all children, in a way), or are elderly or disabled. Just putting that on the radar - I hope that the railway side at least gets provisioned ok when complete! #pleasedontshootthemessenger
