I didnt mention it in my last post, but when Nintendo announced - TopicsExpress

I didnt mention it in my last post, but when Nintendo announced the new 3DS models they also announced a 3DS port of Xenoblade Chronicles EXCLUSIVELY for the new models. Apparently its something Nintendo has wanted to do for a while, but power of the 3DS limited what they could do. Xenoblade Chronicles, for those who dont know it, was a Wii game that had poor sales but was well loved by the few people who actually bought it, which has made it hard to find and fairly expensive these days. So if youre a JRPG fan, or youre thinking about jumping in with Xenoblade X when it launches and want some experience, this new 3DS port may be the only way to play it. Of course, plenty of people are worried that there will be a lot of exclusives and the userbase will be split because of the significant power difference, leaving people who already own a 3DS feeling abandoned. This might be the case, but I think its pretty unlikely. For starters, a lot of people own a 3DS. It would be a terrible decision to release a game they expect to sell well just for the new hardware, because most people wouldnt buy it. Its also worth mentioning that the PSP had revisions that increased its power, as did the DS. The DSi even had exclusive software, although I think it may have been limited to downloadable titles. Basically, dont jump to conclusions. It would be a terrible decision to abandon the original 3DS at this stage, but at the same time were used to hardware manufacturers making terrible decisions. I mean, look at the name: new 3DS. What the hell Nintendo? You could have called it the Super 3DS, which would have been less confusing for average consumers and more awesome for everyone else. Shit, I would have bought two on launch day if they were called that. Anyway, you should check out the Xenoblade Chronicles gameplay, although it doesnt really show anything interesting. It really just seems like a straight port. -Reece
