I didnt start the month of November with the daily thankful quotes, but today I have 45 thankfuls all in one day and it is all because of Facebook! A couple of months ago I was on Facebook with my sister Sue Lynn, and cousins Mary Ann and Kaye - I had posted something about family and Kaye, who lives in Michigan, said, You know, we really need to do a Smith reunion. My comment to her - as those of you that know me well will understand - came out before I really even thought about it. I said, You know, Ive been thinking about the Saturday after Thanksgiving. to which Kaye replied, Im booking a flight now! The rest is history and lots of Gods perfect timing which allowed 45 of our Smith family to get together for a long awaited reunion! It consisted of first cousins, second cousins and our spouses, children and grandchildren! What a wonderful day it was!! Our parents were all brothers and sisters of a large family who remained close to their 1st cousins right up until there was only 2 left. They gave us a history rich in family and such wonderful memories to treasure for our lifetimes. The states of Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, New Mexico and Arizona were represented today and as I said earlier, Gods perfect timing allowed some to be able to be here just at the right time! I share this to say this: a wonderful fun-filled day was planned all because of Facebook - That is what I love about it - I have made connection with some cousins just this year that I thought I would never hear from again! Please use Facebook to connect to those you love - there is room for drama in other avenues - and dont forget to tell your family you love them!! (Sorry this is so long but I am still sooooo excited about today!)
