I didnt vote. I made a conscious decision to abstain. I understand the nature of what people endured for me to gain the ability to vote. But I understand the the nature of a vote and its impact on society and the government. Real people (some Im related to) endured real horrors for me to be able to vote and they did it so they and their bloodlines would have the freedom to chose representation. Representation to me is a heavy concept. What kind a person can represent me and the legacy that led to my personal freedom? Me, I believe in many things but the first is that logic and reason is the only universal language. Some people would say that music is a universal language and the reason is because music is sound exhibited through a logistical and reasonable structure. The sounds are arranged with rhythms and layered with other sounds with different tonal and rhythmic qualities that fit with the root or base/bass (thats not a pun if you know how or what it means to arrange music you know what that means). Some people say love is a universal language. I say, if it is then its harder to learn than trying to learn brail with no hands. That may be a personal issue but divorcee and infidelity rates would beg to differ. People are very different by nature so how can some one who fits in only one of two categories represent me? Im pretty different in my own right. I believe that the county is due for another nonviolent revolution. The great part is that this one can actually be the first nonviolent revolution and everyone can participate. Lets be honest, in the last one only some people who participated tried to be nonviolent. Never the less its time to make change. Change is not up to be president or congress to make its up to us. Listen to the money. The real vote happens daily every second with commerce and viewership. The biggest industry to come is media. Look at video on demand streams, understand that the money spent on media it at an all time high and the cost to make it is at an all time low. You have to know that the future of commerce is in communication and the only way to communicate to the world effectively is with comprehensive, multifaceted media strategies and initiatives. They like to say that voting is your civic duty. Technically the only legally defined civic duties in America are jury duty and the draft. They also say vote because its the only way to make an impact. I think I can make a greater lasting impact. In this new/now future the media playing field is very level (at least for the time being. Netflix and Comcast are looking like they might actually take over the known world. Who knows what that will mean?) but being that there is so much immediate opportunity now is the time for people to take effective action. Every two years the politicians high jack our air waves and Internet outlets for 9 months or more. They F up everybodys TV shows, radio programs, pandora, YouTube, and everything else you watch or listen to all in an attempt to confuse you. They whip you up into an emotional rage by evoking all of your social fears. people talk about every thing except the way to make an actual impact. Their time is done for now. Its time for us to control the story. All we have to do is create better content then them. Dont try to control the government. Effect the people with good work and he government will have to react. Some people tell the truth, some people tell lies, some people have great stories to tell, some people are trying to distract you with BS. You can easily get lost in that wash of confusion. The fact of the matter is if you want to take control you have to be Geppetto no Pinocchio (excuse my Italian). I chose to communicate by not voting. When there is a candidate that can represent me I will vote. Im not going to vote for the lesser of two evils. What is less evil? Is that like Diet coke of evil from Austin Powers? Why would I vote in the Devils election? Let me know when when I can vote for the greatest of good and then I will be able to honor my ancestors by going to vote.
