I didnt want to comment on a friend of mines post because I feel it is none of my concern and me budding in would only complicate things as they were dying down, so I decided to put forth an issue on my own wall: Religion in classrooms. Im not saying preach, Im saying acknowledgement. Im not saying to bring personal religious views into the classroom, but teach children that its their choice. Provide kids with an assortment of religions that are out their, show them the basic belief structures of each (Atheism and Agnosticism included) and then leave them to decide on their own which religion feels right. Because you cant ignore the subject forever. Especially if you are a Christian teaching, or an Atheist. Providing all students with the knowledge of all religions (at least the most prominent) will provide them with more understanding and tolerance towards other religions and beliefs.
