I dislike using FB for "sociopolitical" postings, generally. However, I decide whether to post something based on whether or not it is something I would share with friends face-to-face, desiring to treat my FB friends with the same standards with which I treat my friends in person. This post passed muster. I would share this with you, face to face. This is what I posted, along with my signature, on this petition: "Our daughter has Down Syndrome. Our family of eight visited the Disney parks in California in 2011. The pass enabled our family to enjoy the parks together, without someone having to constantly sit and rest with our daughter or go throughout the park very slowly in order to accommodate her. I observed, with indignation, healthy teens push a friend up in a wheelchair, who promptly jumped out, push to the front of the line, thus abusing the pass. Their unconscionable behavior needs to be addressed. The abusers should be penalized, NOT the families with real life, day-in, day-out special needs realities. Come on, Disney! Be a contributor of JOY to families with special needs. Stop the abuse of the pass by healthy people who are simply being selfish! Keep the pass for families with a legitimate need!"
