I do find the news media here in the UK strange. A few weeks ago the Malaysian Airline crash, the Korean Ferry sinking, the Syrian conflict and much more was headline news. All are still ongoing events and yet there is nothing on the BBC, SKY & ITV news programmes about what is happening now. I find it strange that they are so insular in their outlook. If Farage sticks a pint tumbler on his head it is a news flash. Where are the reports of the genocide in the Central African Republic... the forced labour camps in the UAE... the lack of aid in Haiti and the 800,000 people still homeless... the list goes on. Makes you think that perhaps in the same way the state controls the media output in North Korea, the powers that be do the same here. I learn more about what is happening in the world from Al Jazeera than any of the UK news programmes. Sad state of affairs.
