I do not believe that there is a pool of good and bad that is dolled out by a caring Universe, used to punish bad deeds and reward good deeds. I do believe that all people are molded by their experiences. When we experience kindness and fairness we are in turn more apt to extend kindness and fairness, when we experience unkind actions and unfairness we are apt to return the same to others. In this way within a society we can see an effect that is generally analogous to Karma, where the more kindness and fairness we extend the more kindness and fairness will be generally expressed by those around us and vice versa. When the average expression of kindness in our given social groups increases the more kindness we will experience.
