I do not know the adequate verbiage to say what I feel but THAT - TopicsExpress

I do not know the adequate verbiage to say what I feel but THAT has never stopped me before. :-) In this topsy turvy crazy world of hatred and racial division, I was humbled today to drive down my neighborhood and see an encouraging, uplifting sight. My neighbors are relatively new to the community and are a nice African American family. They were working frantically yesterday to put up their yard Christmas decorations and we stopped to check on them to see how they were doing. As I drove to do some last minute Christmas shopping, I went by their house this morning. There in their yard was a white Nativity. I paused to reflect and then drove on to my destination. I thought to myself, This is what Christmas is all about. Jesus sees no color and neither should we. Christ was born a Jew but He came for all of us. I am Caucasian but I am no better than anyone else. We all stand on equal ground at the foot of the Cross. If God is my Father and I want to live a life that pleases Him then I MUST also be intentionally color blind. I am sorry for all the injustices in this world, and one day...trust me...Jesus will make every wrong right! Until then, love is the calling card for every Christian and putting that love into action is my daily mandate. Some children see Him lily white, the baby Jesus born this night. Some children see Him lily white, with tresses soft and fair. Some children see Him bronzed and brown, The Lord of heavn to earth come down. Some children see Him bronzed and brown, with dark and heavy hair. Some children see Him almond-eyed, this Savior whom we kneel beside. some children see Him almond-eyed, with skin of yellow hue. Some children see Him dark as they, sweet Marys Son to whom we pray. Some children see Him dark as they, and, ah! they love Him, too! The children in each different place will see the baby Jesus face like theirs, but bright with heavenly grace, and filled with holy light. O lay aside each earthly thing and with thy heart as offering, come worship now the infant King. Tis love thats born tonight! ~Alfred S. Burt
