I do not normally make post or comments like this so If you think it is a bit out of character for me understand I will not tolerate drama or bullying when it is aimed at me or my family. I like to try and deal with people and issues in real live and living color. Now, I like social media just about as good as the next guy. I use it for staying in touch with friends and family. I also use it to communicate with fellow leather workers and to find information or things I am looking for. However in this electronically emboldened world we live in I have found that it is increasingly becoming a place where you can make a simple comment in no way pointed to a specific person and suddenly find yourself the target of an a$$ chewing because someone thought you were referring to them or they have an opinion and they know best. Well in the real world (not this digital one) you might just be wrong and there is someone out there that can and will show you just how wrong you are. Know I try to keep my comments on others posts relevant to the original posts topic. You will rarely find that I deviate much. If I have something to say to an individual I tend to use the rule of...would I be willing to say this to their face? Is it appropriate? Have I always done this?...No, I will not lie. In this selfish,selfie world of social media people have gotten to disconnected and way too bold. So I have this to say. If you have anything to say about what I comment or post. Make damn sure I am talking about you when you get mad at me because something struck a cord and you decide to private message me and start calling me names. Especially when I dont even know who you are and you damn sure dont know me. If you wouldnt say it to my face dont say it at all. If you do have something to say I would be glad to have you come to where I am and say it to me then! I will even give you perfect directions as to where and when I would be available to chat. Be prepared to get hit head on with the facts at that point because I dont pull any punches nor will I massage your ego from behind a keyboard or touchscreen pad at that point. Lets start getting real folks. When youve got something really important to say take the time to make it personal and say it in person not from a little box. If you dont have anything really important or relevant to the issue, chances are its not worth saying. Especially if who you are saying it to is a stranger. Moral of this story is this... You want to private message me and start calling me names?...program your GPS for Yukon Oklahoma and let me know you are on your way I will be here waiting patiently. Lets start getting back to the basics of communication folks and keep it real without all the BS and drama. My rant for the year...carry on! Besides its Thanksgiving and we all need to let others know how thankful we are. It might just rub off!
