I do not subscribe to the idea that Jay Cutler is a loser or is - TopicsExpress

I do not subscribe to the idea that Jay Cutler is a loser or is doomed as a Chicago Bear quarterback. Call it excuses all you want. But I think that the Chicago Bears have been under a terrible lack of leadership for a few years now. From the general management to the coaching staff. In recent history, Marc Trestman was the exact equivalent of a substitute teacher in a public school classroom. He had zero control over his locker room, which was a direct indictment towards the lack of leadership. And as a staff, they never got the best out of their players. This wasnt a Jay Cutler issue to me. It was a Bears issue. Im not gonna sit here and be naive to the absolute disregard to ball security Jay Cutler has. But to me, thats another indictment to the lack of leadership and accountability. That terrible staff didnt get the best out of an entire roster of players. We just had Jay Cutler under the microscope because of his colossal contract. Ive seen Mr. Cutler have some sort of success when he values possession of the ball. We forget the good things weve seen by him. And in all fairness, Cutler might be the absolute bum 99% of you claim him to be. But Since he is currently under that massive contract, and the Bears STILL havent put a backup plan in the works, I wanna see what Cutler can do under a REAL head coach who isnt substitute teaching. Someone who will not accept failure or disregard to possessions. Someone who will take Cutler, and any other player, grab them by the neck, and rub their faces in their mistakes and shortcomings like the old fashioned dog owner disciplining his pet. Someone who will have receivers running actual routes that get separation. Someone who will unleash this offensive line and let them do what they wanna do, fire out and run block in a real power scheme. I know Matt Forte isnt a power runner. But he can run between the tackles. Someone who will have an aggressive defensive playcaller who understands that pass rush and coverage are equally important. No one finds it weird that the entire roster was a disappointment under this recent staff? That was the ONLY common denominator. The Bears roster isnt as trash as the 5-11 record they just showed. That was a catastrophic failure of a season based of the leadership. Gimme a veteran coach with some balls and a general manager who isnt gonna try to reinvent football with stupid Shea McClellin drafts. And lets try this again. If not, then you gut the roster (including Cutler).
