I do not write many posts on this forum but the Kind of PIZZA i had yesterday has compelled me to do so! Although I am not as talented as Nazia Latif or Faheem Rizvi who can make you feel that God of Food actually came down and made it himself and want you to jump off your seat and rush to the restaurant with your mouth drooling i will still give it a try! So a friend called and said r u in the mood for authentic italian pizza? and i was like yea right , authentic italian in Karachi. Closest to that would be ...well nothing. However the sound of it tickled my fancy as it came from someone who knows food like i do. To my utter surprise she took me to The Riding Hood Bakery in khudda market and that was it. Upon entering the cafe i knew i will just have a bucket load of calories without enjoying a single bite. However my friend knew the owner and he especially came to make the pizza itself and this is how the story of my love affair with the pizza begins! it was love at first bite and i was married to it by the end. I WILL NOT ever try any other pizza here till my last breath. If you ever indulge in a pizza then it SHOULD be THAT damn GOOD! Ordered the ROMA and NAPLES. I was told the pizza was thin but it wasnt, however i think my friend wanted to tell me it was fluffy and light. The dough was completely different from anything i have had here. The signature however was the sauce .. oh my god..the sauce... You can actually blind fold me and make me taste a 100 pizzas and i can tell which one is from Red Riding Hood Bakery. It had a tangy taste to it which kicks in right after you taste the super soft cheese on top which btw was not such an abundance where you cannot taste anything but the cheese. In my opinion please do give it a try. The service was excellent and we then also indulged in their butter shortbreak biscuits. A whif of those biscuits made me hungry all over again. I know a bakery making pizzas doesnt make sense but it doesnt have to make sense it just has to taste super good and that it did for me to write well in my words a story. Yummy in my tummy!
