I dont believe in half measures. So when I trip, I go down big... Ending up in a crumpled heap of limbs, camera and 300mm lens at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the mens toilets on Chobe Safari Lodges boat. 16 people leapt to my immediate assistance, and while they were concerned with trivialities like whether I was still alive and how many broken bones I had, all I wanted to know was how much damage there was to my camera. I am pleased to report the camera and lens survived the fall intact (hats off, Canon!) and my elbow and arm carry minor bruises and scrapes. My ankle, on the other hand (foot), is swollen and rather blue... Fortunately nothing is broken, but it will be a rather painful 2 800km drive back to Cape Town. Lesson learnt!
