I dont care what major league team you cheer for. We have had the honor of seeing an honest to goodness superstar who started out as a shy unassuming twenty year old who patrolled the area between second and third as few ever before him. With hard work he made him self in to a player that even players of decades before would cheer for. As the all star appearances and world series titles became a regular occurrence they only added to his legend. He gave a hundred percent on and off the field. And you never heard of a needle making his balls fly off his bat, nor did you ever hear of him causing embarrassment to his team or fans as so many greats that have had their name mentioned with some of the most famous felons of the day. Just think he stayed on the same team for twenty years. Half his life on the same team. It may never happen again in baseball. Oh and he played in New York, not the easiest place to stay out of trouble. Micheal Jeffries and Angela Wine Fay how lucky were we and blessed to have Derek Jeter as the Yankees captain all these years
