I dont care what party you belong to, if you vote to restrict people from voting you have NO business being in public office AT ALL! Voter ID laws, shortening early voting, purging voters (illegally), etc are all good reasons to have you removed from office and ARRESTED for voter fraud, tampering, and violating the constitutional rights of your fellow citizens! Your job is to make it EASIER to vote, not HARDER! As a Democrat and an American I take the right to vote take very SERIOUS! When I register voters I register EVERYONE, regardless of party affiliation (so I HAVE registered Reps, American Independents, Greens, Libertarians, DTS, as well as Dems). This is because I TRULY believe in our democratic republic. I believe that EVERYONE has the right to cast their vote as they wish. Yet many on the other side do not. They pass voter ID laws (meant to block women, the poor, minorities from voting), shorten early voting times, prevent/repeal early registration, pass confusing laws meant to discourage voters from voting, purging voters (illegally/unconstitutionally) RIGHT BEFORE an election, questionable electronic machines (that are proven to be easy to tamper with), etc. This, ladies and gentlemen, is NOT a democracy or a republic! This is NOT American. This is the kind of system that the voters of all sides decry, where people are kicked out due to political preference. Yet the ones who do this are NOT liberals or Democrats, they are ALWAYS Republicans and conservatives (like Ann Coulter who said women shouldnt be able to vote, as well as a recent Tea Bagger who said the GOP/TBs didnt want African Americans to vote if they vote Democratic). Ask yourself, to those who may criticize this post, why is it that GOPs always try to push these measures that attack the right to vote (and it is always close to an election)? Voter fraud is almost non-existent (when questioned on this, a former Bush appointee admitted that the numbers of voter fraud, in terms of dead people voting/people voting 2x was next to none). Then why push these measures that serve no purpose and that blatantly make it harder for Democratic leaning voters (minorities, women, etc) to vote*? *This is a trick/rhetorical question as the ONLY answer is to prevent Democratic leaning voters from going to the polls to vote. Just ANOTHER example of how Democrats are NOTHING like the Republicans.
