I dont expect for everyone to read or like this post by hitting the thumbs up button because it will be long. This is really an attempt for me to convey my heart. Originally, my idea was to post a video of me singing one of my favorite Andrae Crouch songs (maybe later) but Im going somewhere else. Tonight I was on a call hosted by Think Out Loud that featured my pastor Bishop T. D. Jakes. I knew the call would be empowering so I dialed in, even though I was sitting at a dinner table with friends. The hosts of the call asked Bishop to address the millennials ( leaders of the next/now move of God). So much wisdom was going forth that I could apply to my own desires to be a successful leader and business woman but something shifted in my understanding. As Bishop continued to address the millennials I felt that mandate to not only embrace the significance as a millennial leader/business woman for this movement but as a near future WIFE to a millennial leader. Sometimes, the role of this kind of wife is glorified by glamour and prestige and not enough emphasis is put on the need for this wife to be a praying woman. An understanding woman. A supportive woman. And yes, Bishop addressed the importance for the millennial man to love and lead his wife and household before he goes out to change the world. But I felt in my spirit the need to understand how imperative it is for the millennial woman to be the support to the change agent. I know many women are hype about front seat status and VIP treatment but will cower at the thought of putting up assets for a greater cause and risking a lifestyle that is comfortable and glamorous. Im not saying you shouldnt want to look good and live well because I certainly do. But my greater concern is being able to be the best support to my millennial man that I can be. I realize that I am designed to be a WIFE to 1 man. And I do know that he is a man of significance to this movement(whoever or wherever he is). I do know that I possess some skills, knowledge, passion and influence that will be an asset to his vision and mandate so its not to be wasted on someone who is not assigned and designed for that level of commitment, covenant and favor. I said ALL this to say (which I could elaborate more) I embrace my role as a millennial leader and millennial leaders wife. There is too much ground to cover so its time to FOCUS! Prayer time....
