I dont get it. If a life of a public official is in danger why not get protection from NBI or the highly trained PNP operatives? Why get a private security to secure a public official? Is this not just a case of unwarranted debauchery of public funds? And why negotiate the contract in favor of Omni which is fronting for VP Binay and Atty. Berberabe was a recommendee of VP Binay to head Pag-Ibig Fund and HUDCC of which VP Binay is the head is entertwined with Pag-Ibig? Just pure coincidence? And why would her life be in danger? The people who scammed Pag-Ibig Funds were being prosecuted by the Sandiganbayan through the Office of the Ombudsman. If ever threats are made, they should be directed against the prosecutors or judges of these govt. bodies. Atty. Berberabe was not involved in their prosecution. Pag-Ibigs participation in that is simply record transmission which belong solely to lower officials at Pag-Ibig and witnesses against the scammers are people who have personal knowledge of the transactions and not the President of the institution like Atty. Berberabe. Even if she has personal knowledge of the transactions, she would not have time to go to court hearings to the prejudice of her more pressing duties at the institution. These are documented transactions and the more competent to testify against the scammers of Pag-Ibig Housing Funds are the record-keepers at her office who entered the entries into those records now subject of the court cases and not Berberabe herself. To make the argument credible, she has yet to show proofs of those threats against her life. Without these proofs, Atty. Berberabe could only be hallucinating. Yet, it is easy to fabricate alleged threats because you dont have to authenticate them, just like the way Tony Tiu proves his ownership of the Rosario Hacienda with a one-page unnotarized usufruct agreement. Wheewwww!!!! They really think the public are that dumb! There is so much beauty attached in her face which is not matched by a beautiful brain.
