I dont get shocked much anymore when it comes to atrocities committed by Ag Industry. But today this article by the NY times totally floored me. This congress founded secret TAXPAYER- FUNDED federal institution called the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, commits the most horrific Frankenstein experiments on animals, all to benefit beef, pork and lamb producers turn higher profits. The tests have been compared to the experiments done by the Nazis to people in WW2. The experiments are horrific in nature. Cows genetically modified to have twins, who after 10 years of experimentation still are deformed at birth. Cow immobilized and gang raped to death by bulls in a test for bull libido. Easy Care lambs left to starve, freeze, or eaten by predators. Brain surgeries and ovarian surgeries in pigs to try to tamper with reproduction. Starvation, neglect, infection...I could go on and on. Food animals are exempted from the Animal Welfare Act. It is a long hard read but please read, sign the petition and SHARE. This is of concern to vegans, animal lovers and meat eaters, consumers, taxpayers, everyone. This needs to be shut down!
