I dont have T.V access so I had not seen these before but the whole series is great! It is so hard to stop and gather facts when what I have seen seems so clear! A few years ago I was at a 4th of July celebration in our park. I think that there are usually about 10,000 or so people who arrive and I know it takes a lot of work to organize and clean up and I appreciate that. Whenever we go, before we leave the event, we pick out a HUGE parameter to take responsibility for. We do this for a few reasons- 1) Just to pitch in and help clean up after the party 2) So the kids learn that they are responsible for more than just their immediate impact.... eh, I could keep going. The area is usually a huge mess and there never seems to be enough garbage bins so after we had filled the bins with garbage from this huge area, we began making small piles along the walk way between the bins to make it easier for the collectors to manage it. A few small sized piles is easier to deal with than hundreds of bits scattered all over the place, right? Okay, so I was carrying a large armful of garbage and was setting it down in what was going to be a new midway pile and as I was setting it down a woman was walking past me, watched me and said something like Lazy asshole, why dont you walk all the way over to the garbage can instead of expecting others clean up after you. For real. That happened. Do any of you have similar stories?
