I dont have any concerns about ------ providing for her daughter in every way. She is a strong advocate and defends ----- vehemently. She was in the Gifted and Talented Program in school, so she is more than a mother. Mothers like these with Superior Intelligence who have handicapped children, often have a calling on their lives for advocacy on a large scale. The only way that I can explain why this case was opened in error is that she needed to have another cause as well....that of clients who get a DFPS case for which there are no grounds or evidence other than the testimonies of people who can be discredited. Personalities play a role in investigations. This is not the first time I have seen a gifted person with a DFPS case. Gifted individuals are vulnerable to systemic abuse because they are perfectionists. Additionally, they are targets, like people who are members of minority groups, for abuse in schools, places of residence, the workplace, and other sites where the majority rules. There is nothing more to say but that this case should never have been opened. The only way it would stay open is that the people involved....Mr. Poindexter and his supervisor....would have to admit that he botched the investigation and did not listen to the right people and his ego would not let him back down. Obviously, he is like the majority who missed the trees while looking at the forest.
