I dont have too many rules for a person to by my friend, but one of them is dont steal shit from us ... Anyway, there was this guy I became friends with a while back who Ill refer to as THIEF. We had some of the same interests ... and he had a family ... sometimes he would call to borrow money for diapers or food ... and if I had it, I would help him out ... because thats what friends do. Then about a month or so back, he decided to steal 50 bucks from me. 20 years ago, I would have tracked him down and I would have taken 50 dollars out of his ass ... but instead, I let it go. Why ? Because I dont physically tangle with anyone (anymore) and as a young man, I made mistakes that were similar. I never took things from my friends or family, though. To make a short story long, this fella phoned me today, out of the blue, acting like nothing ever happened. So imagine youre him for a minute, on his side of the line ... this is what he experienced : Will : Hello. THIEF : Hey, man ... this is THIEF ... Sound Effect : Click. THIEF : Hello ? Hello ? Sorry, buddy. My friendship was worth 50 bucks to you. I dont intend to let it be worth anymore than that. :(
