I dont know about anybody else but being in school when teachers - TopicsExpress

I dont know about anybody else but being in school when teachers spoke about Africa, it was almost as if they wanted you to believe that Africa was just about slavery. That Africans lived in huts, a womans job was only to bare the children, and take care of home, everyone was poor and they all suffered from numerous diseases. If I wasnt that curious kid I wouldnt have learned at an early age the beauty thats behind the continent. All the beautiful countries, the diversity, the enrichment of life, the scenery, the beautiful people, the cultures, I probably wouldve never knew Egypt was in African. And if I never met Gina freshman year of high school I wouldve never knew so much about Morroco. Ever since I was a kid I made a mandatory decision to explore Africa before I leave this world. I want to see for myself the beauty, who knows I might try to learn as many of its languages as I can. If you looked at the movies I watch on netflix a good amount of it are movies based in africa. Back to watching yet another African movie : Sounds of Sand. (thankful for subtitles....until I learn the language)
